Photo Booth Time Lapse

If you are inserting your photos one by one, follow the steps outlined below. If you are doing a mass import, skip to the section that is in purple.

 

Importing a Single photo

Importing your Photo Booth photos into iMovie

  • Open Photo Booth
  • Click on one of the photos
  • Open iMovie
  • Start a new project/movie
  • Drag the photo booth photo into iMovie to the clip editing/viewing timeline screen on the bottom of the screen. Repeat this process for all of your photos.

Taking off Ken Burns Effect (removing the zooming)

  • Press ‘command a’ to select all of the photos
  • Click on the cropping icon
  • Click on ‘Fit’
  • Click on the icon ‘i’
  • Change the duration to .1s or .2s  and check ‘Applies to all stills’ or make sure all stills are selected
  • File–> Share—> File
  • Upload to the google classroom assignment

Triple check that the photos are not zooming in and out. If they are, follow the steps in red!

 

Mass Import

Importing your Photo Booth photos into iMovie

  • Open Photo Booth
  • Click on one of the photos
  • Press ‘command a’ to select all the photos
  • Open the Photos app (you can search for through the finder or the search tool)
  • Go to File—>Import
  • Select Photos on the left (it will have a camera icon next to the name)
  • Click on Photo Booth
  • Click on one photo and then press command a to select them all
  • Once selected, press the blue button Review for Import. Then, press Import
  • Next, we will open iMovie. Create a new project.
  • Click on Movie
  • Follow the steps in the video to import, adjust the crop (you MUST turn off Ken Burns effect, and change the time).
    • Make sure to play the video back to ensure that all slides are .1 seconds long (max speed should be .2 seconds)
  • To export your file, go to File–>Share—>File

Triple check that the photos are not zooming in and out. If they are, follow the steps in red!

BEFORE you upload the video to Google Classroom, make sure it is finished saving and you can play it back
