Camera Recommendations

Click here for a great article that has a variety of dslr camera recommendations. We use Nikon’s in class but any of these cameras would be a fantastic choice. Keep in mind that dslr cameras are not required ūüôā

Tuesday, September 25th

  • Narrow down your top Spirit Week photos to the best five. Pay attention to clarity and composition. Use adjustment layers to correct areas of the photo. You want to make sure that there is even lighting and that the photos look realistic. Attach all five photos and the originals to the Google Classroom assignment.

  • Alphabet Project–¬†Your assignment is to photograph objects that look like letters in the alphabet. You will need to have one final photo for each letter. You may¬†not use a literal representation (i.e. a written letter). This is going to be a challenge trying to find all the letters. Use your knowledge of the Rule of Thirds. Play around with how you crop images (how they look in the frame). You can also rotate the photos so they look like the letter. The letters may be lowercase or uppercase. Your photos will be due on Thursday, September 27th

  • Art Show Extra Credit! There is an art opening after school in our gallery (room 147). If you take a photo there and upload it to the Google Classroom, you will receive extra credit.

  • ¬†Two Dozen (24)- Photo Exercise
    • You will be assigned a spot in the room or hallway
    • You will need to keep your feet stationary and take 24 unique photographs. You cannot move your feet.
      • Things to think about: Your positioning: Are you standing tall? Have you tried crouching?
      • Is your camera moving? You can point the camera in different directions
      • Are there different modes your phone camera can go into? Panorama? Portrait Mode? Keep in mind these need to be still images (not videos)
      • Are there unique angles and framing to consider?
