  • Collage Project– You should have your background photo selected and a minimum of 10 images ready to go. The document preset should be set to US Paper and the resolution set to 300. If your background image looks pixelated, you will need to find a different photo.

  • Finished early? You can start your own double face swap diptych challenge. Check Google Classroom for the assignment. Find two high resolution photos (these can be your photos or photos from the internet) and swap their faces. The photos must be photographs, they cannot be cartoons or have filters. There must be a minimum of four people in each photo. Example: swap the faces of the cast of Friends with the cast of How I Met Your Mother. It’s ok if it’s an uneven match, just make sure you are altering a minimum of 8 faces. Both face swaps must be on the same document (diptych style).

    • Make sure that all of the letters are cropped and that they are in focus.
    • Download all the letters onto your computer. If the file is HEIC, you can use the converter to turn them into JPEG files. Each letter in the assigned words should be recognizable on its own. The goal is to not have to struggle to be able to read the word.

  • The next step in the alphabet project is to create words with your alphabet photos. I will go over the tutorial on how to piece the words together in class tomorrow.   •  Two Dozen (24)- Photo Exercise
    • You will be assigned a spot in the room or hallway
    • You will need to keep your feet stationary and take 24 unique photographs. You cannot move your feet.
      • Things to think about: Your positioning: Are you standing tall? Have you tried crouching?
      • Is your camera moving? You can point the camera in different directions
      • Are there different modes your phone camera can go into? Panorama? Portrait Mode? Keep in mind these need to be still images (not videos)
      • Are there unique angles and framing to consider?

Camera Recommendations

Click here for a great article that has a variety of dslr camera recommendations. We use Nikon’s in class but any of these cameras would be a fantastic choice. Keep in mind that dslr cameras are not required 🙂
