In this course, you will be doing a combination of graphic design and photography. A dslr camera is not required, but you will need access to a camera outside of school. A requirement for this course is to have taken a digital media course at Lane or to have had instructor approval. If you have not had the appropriate approval to be enrolled in this course, please let me know asap.
Pinterst boards- This will be due on the first day of class
You will need to create a Pinterest account. This account is strictly for school, please do not link this to a personal Pinterest account. You will need to have a minimum of ten pins for each of the boards listed below. The boards are a reflection of what inspires you and will help you develop a personal style. We will be using Pinterest throughout the year to gather inspiration for upcoming projects. Refer to my Pinterest account https://www.pinterest.com/adiamond1412/ for examples.

Mixed Media Collages- Five collages due on Friday, September 8th
These pieces do not need to relate to one another and there are no size limitations. Please keep in mind that you will need to bring in all five pieces on Friday, September 8th. You should be working on these pieces throughout the summer.
If you are using imagery that is not your own, you will need to alter at least 75% of it. Your entire portfolio will be disqualified by the AP Board if you plagiarize any images. The best way to avoid this is to use completely original content OR substantially alter 75% of the imagery.
Photography- Due Friday, September 8th (the images will be shared electronically- you do not need to bring in physical photographs)
- Cityscape/Landscape- 25 photos
- Sky photography- 25 photos
- People- 25 photos
- Personal choice photography- 25 photos of anything you want
Business Cards- Due Friday, September 8th
You will need to collect a minimum of twenty business cards. Ten cards that you consider successful and ten cards that you consider poorly done. Look for cards that stand out! Pay attention to color, font, logo, use of space, originality, etc. I will collect all business cards on the first Friday that we are back from school. Art fairs have unbelievable artist business cards!
