Direct Selection Tool and Distort and Transform

Distort and Transform

  • Use the Type Tool (T) to type a word
  • 1 new font type text
  • Go to Type—>Create Outlines
  • 2 new font Create outlines
  • We will need to add more anchor points
  • Go to Object—>Path—>Add Anchor Points (do this a couple times)
  • 4 new font add anchor points
  • 3 new font create outlines 6 new font added anchor points again
  • Select the text
  • Edit—>Copy
  • Edit—>Paste
  • Click on one of the copies
  • Go to Effect—>Distort and Transform—>Pucker and Bloat
  • 7 new font pucker and bloat
  • Make sure the preview box is checked
  • Slide the scale to get the effect you want
  • 8 new font bloat
  • Press OK
  • Click on the other copy
  • Go to Effect—>Distort and Transform—>Pucker and Bloat
  • 9 new font pucker

  • Add more anchor points
  • Object—>Ungroup
  • Click on the Direct Selection Tool in the tool bar (A)

  • Click and hold on the anchor points and drag them to alter the letters
