Creating a Gallery

  • Go to wordpress.com and click on the log in option on the top right

  • The next screen to appear will be your dashboard
  • If you haven’t alreay added a Gallery page, hover the mouse over Pages
  • Click on add new

  • Add a page title

  • Click on ‘Add Media’
  • Click on ‘Upload Files’

  • Click on ‘Select Files’
  • Find your images on the computer (I recommend doing a few at a time…if you do them all it will take a really really really loooooooong time)
  • Once all the files are uploaded, press ‘esc’ on the keyboard or click the ‘x’ on the top right
  • Type the name of your first category (Traditional Portraits) and press return/enter on the keyboard

  • Click on Add Media
  • Go to ‘Media Library’
  • Click on Create Gallery (it’s on the top left)
  • Click on each file that falls under Traditional Portraits (you’ll notice that a check will appear when you click on each file)

  • Once you have selected all the necessary files, click the ‘Create a new gallery’ button on the bottom right
  • Change the ‘Link To’ option to ‘None’
  • Change the ‘Type’ option option to ‘Slideshow’

  • Click on ‘Insert gallery’

  • Press ‘Save Draft’ (located under the Publish category on the top right)
  • Click on the Preview option
  • You should now see a slideshow of your work
  • Close that screen and repeat this process for all of your categories
  • When you are finished, make sure to click on Publish
